“Time management is not a peripheral activity or skill. It is the core skill upon which everything else in life depends.“ — Brian Tracy

Here are few Rules to manage your time in freelancing

Make Proper to-do lists

Making and keeping to a routine is the best way to plan out your workload, and make sure you minimize stressful situations and stick to all deadlines:

Use technology to your advantage

It looks like we have an app for everything nowadays. we can use these free on basic level . Why not use them for time-management for freelancing or any other business?

To name a few, you can create a tidy work-day schedule using Google Calendar, save all your work files on a cloud drive like Dropbox or Google Drive.

It’s all about working smarter, not harder.

Say ‘NO’

Be very clear about how much work you can take on at any given time. at the beginning of your freelance career you try to accept every task, but you can’t say ‘yes’ to everything that comes your way.

“Saying ‘no’ can be difficult — that’s money you are turning away! But if you know you don’t have the time, and you’re just trying to grab in an extra project because of money , you’ll find yourself overwhelmed and regretting your decision at the end.

Track your time

The biggest source of many freelancers frustration is trying to figure out where their time has gone and what they’ve actually done after a day’s work. luckily, there are many time-tracking tools you can choose like clockify, google apps, trello etc

If you estimate the time it will take you to complete a task, make sure to be generous and things almost always take longer than expected.

 Minimize distractions

Distractions are bigger threats to freelancer productivity than that of full-time employees,  because there isn’t a traditional office setting to keep you in check, but there are ways to deal with them.

Phone, Social Media, the Internet all these things may create distractions like a great solution for your phone would be to turn it off and all social sites could be added to blocker so you can visit them during working

Concluding Thoughts

Living the freelancer life can be a blessing or a curse. It all depends on how you manage it all to figure out the sweet things.
